Small town rural life...

Hartland is very quiet... and small... but all these small little towns are so close together. Drive what seems 5 minutes either way and you hit another township. The rural countryside life is peaceful though. I don't know if I would want to be stuck out here during winter, but I suppose it is no different from being stuck inside during summer in the UAE.

One of the things that made me smile was watching the local police cruise up and down the main street. I don't actually know what he was looking or waiting for... maybe he heard there were strangers in town from the Middle East! Apart from us there really weren't too many around... it was a work day after all. So many of these towns have so much potential, but I guess there are only so many people to fill them up and keep them alive.
Everyone has barns of various sizes and for various purposes... we want one! Make a great little house... of course most are probably too old to turn into a home and survive the work invovled, but it would be fun to try.

I like the little old farm houses in the area. This was "home" for 3 weeks... over 100 years old, but no ghosts! Basements still creep me out though...

I just like this photo! A "what you looking at" moment.
