APEC 2007 – Sydney

Just in case anyone out there didn’t know, the current APEC conference of world leaders is on in Sydney at the moment – this translates into them having a public holiday today as well as millions of Australian tax payer’s dollars going on what is more or less a big get together where a bunch of leaders either continue to pat each other on the back (or try to avoid each other).

The best part of all of this was the stunt performed by one of the ABC television’s (which is government funded) programs. It is nice to see that during anything Australian's can still be Australian and have that unique sense of humour. It also reminds us that much of what we see as the general public as “security enforcement” is more for media consumption than anything else.

If you have no idea what I am talking about have a read:

Also nice to see George W. knows when he is in “Austria”

Maybe a little too much of a political post, but it is the funniest thing I have seen all week!

Apparently George W. is also at an OPEC conference...can he actually be dumber than when he entered office?
